Early recruiting for SA's not in NYC?

For those of us not interning at a BB in NYC, and wanting to make it up to NYC next year, what is the best way to go about doing this?

Assuming we're given an offer at the end of summer, which will explode. How do you go about getting in contact with the banks in NYC to try and arrange early interviews?

breakinginnew:
do you go to a target? if you do it shouldn't be that hard to get in touch with recruiters...?

Unfortunately I don't.

breakinginnew:
ok that's what i figured--i guess ill beat everyone else to saying network with alums etc and get them to call HR for you

That's kind of tough as my school has barely any alum in NYC. Is cold calling the banks generally a bad idea?

wait, are you interning at a regional BB office? if so, it should be pretty straightforward what the next step would be.

if not, i would suggest possibly cold-emailing/calling analysts... or probably a better idea would be to ask your friends or people in your office if they know anyone out in NYC, and see if they can make the intro or set up a call.

Not a regional BB office. An MM firm.
