Economic Consulting Exit Opportunities
I'm an entry level analyst (straight from undergrad) at an economic consulting firm (i.e. NERA/Cornerstone/Brattle/BRG/FTI/Analysis Group/Bates White).
I'm expecting a promotion this winter or next summer at the latest, and plan to spend about 2 years as a senior analyst before moving on to business school. I would be interested in hearing the stories of people who went from econ consulting to an MBA (how they framed their EC experience in their application). Do you feel like you were at a disadvantage because econ consulting is such a niche industry and not well known? How was business school and what MBA internships are a good match for people with an econ consulting background?
I'm also interested in the stories of people who spent 4-5 years or so in econ consulting, got their MBAs, and moved on to other industries. I have been involved in many IP cases so the valuation skills I've developed make PE or VC interesting if I can land a job there. Has anyone gone down that path?
Thank you for your input!

Look into Economics Partners, they were acquired by Ryan LLC last year. Some of their former employees ended up in IBD, I heard the comp is very competitive. Some partners have strong IBD background as well, especially the Utah office. The Denver office is more economics/transfer pricing related whereas the Utah office is more of IBD type of work.
