EDHEC for Finance Career?

Hi there!

I am 21, European. Next year I'm going to start my 2-year MSc in Management Engineering (Finance stream) and I'm choosing my exchange destination.

I noticed that EDHEC ranked 1st worldwide for MSc Finance in the FT 2018 Ranking, and it has been in the top 3 worldwide in the last 3-4 years. I don't really care about MiM or other programs, and my exchange would be in autumn, with on-campus recruiting by highly relevant firms like JPM, GS and MS during that period. Surfing the net I noticed that EDHEC has a decent general reputation, but it's not even close to other B-Schools (like HEC).

Do you think that this is because EDHEC is excellent in Finance and "only good" in other fields, like Management? How much will weight EDHEC on my CV when I'm applying for a purely financial role? Do recruiters value more the name of the school, or the specific subject-related ranking? Why?

Any answer, explanation and suggestion is really appreciated. Thank you!
