Email referral? Okay to ask via email after talking on phone? IB Superday
Hi so I had a investment banking superday at a BB for a women's program and got rejected, I want to still apply for the regular IBD SA program and in the application there is a section to place names of people for referrals.
I have been in contact with a VP who helped me with my first superday. Is it appropriate for me to email her and ask if it is okay that I put her name in the referral section of the app? Or do I ask to speak with her on the phone and talk about that with her?
I do not want to act is if I am using her - but superday's are soon and I want to submit asap.
Any advice would be very helpful. Many thanks!
Hey - so i'd recommend sending her an email explaining the situation that you really appreciated all her help through the process in the women's program - after going through that process you weren't selected for a spot but you are working on your interview skills (through XYZ method) and you are attempting to apply for the normal interview timeline and you were wondering if you could use her as a reference on the employee referrals section of the app.
Worst she could do is say no... no harm no foul.
