Email to former boss
Hello everyone, so I was previously working as an equity research associate at a boutique house, and was later left the firm due to the restructuring kind of thing. Since I didn't have a chance to properly say goodbye and to thank him when I left, so I am wondering if it's a good idea to email my former boss and to thank him for hiring and couching me? Cuz i want to keep and relationship and don't want to burn the bridge since the equity research is such a small world... If so, what would you suggest me to write in the mail, in addition to just thanking him? Thank you!
You are really overthinking this. Just write something like:
'Hi Bob,
I hope all is well. What are you up to these days? Would love to catch up some time.
Best, Harry'
This. If he doesn't respond for whatever reason, it's no loss to you because he didn't want to keep in touch with you before you sent the email and if he does you're keeping in touch with someone that you may come across in the future.
simplicity, who would have thought..
