Emailing Alumni Technique

Hi guys,

I am a Junior student at a semi target. I have my mornings empty until afternoon all week, and I have a list of alumni nearby in places I would love to work during the spring semester. I am thinking to email them asking for a brief phone call or if we could meet nearby the campus. During the phone call/meet, I will tell them that my mornings are open and I would like to do something valuable during this time. Is this a good idea? I feel as if I am not being to aggressive, and simply explaining my schedule. Should I say this in the introduction email?

I would love to hear your input on this approach to acquire a job during the semester through alumni networking. You guys are the best.
