Emory Goizueta vs CMU Tepper for Undergrad

Which undergrad business school would you opt for and why? I’m confident that my social/student life will be better at Emory but CMU may give me some leverage academically that BBs may prefer...

a friend went to cmu and had a tough time going thru recruiting. not a lot of alum presence on the street but i dont know if emory is any better

Ya I seriously considered going to Tepper but once you visit the campus you realize how depressing it is. The only thing to do is study for your ridiculously hard classes. Amazing placement for FAANG or tech strategy jobs but poor placement for Wall Street (except maybe quant roles).

Emory. Every person I know that has gone there (with different career paths, pre-med/business etc.) all loved their experience. A lot of down to earth people went there and a few bro-ey type of guys. Know a few CMU grads that went into tech and they were very socially awkward. Got high paying jobs eventually in Silicon Valley but were arguably the weirdest people I met in high school.

Both schools are great, but they have very different vibes. Go to the school you think you will fit in more because either way you can reach your goals from both

Best friend went to CMU was a top student in top clubs and hated it. He basically spent his entire sophomore spring and summer recruiting and only managed to land in his words "an average group" at a BB and knows many kids who were unable to get attractive offers despite being strong candidates. From his perspective, CMU is a great school but they really are not that big of a target. Also it absolutely sucks socially. When I would visit, it just look so sad. There are kids who land top offers, but the college experience really blows especially in comparison to Emory

Emory, semi-target with enough resources & connections for recruitment. Know several alumni who went to top IB groups, Blackstone, and other great firms.

+ it's in Atlanta
