Hi all,
I was wondering if moving to ER in a Mifid II environment and at this point in the cycle would be a bad move? I’m currently not in equity research and have good job security currently (not in the division I want). Should I stay put for now?

Depends on a whole bunch of things, but if we're talking from a pure career perspective, yeah. If this was US side i'd strongly caution you, but given you're in Europe, you better be damn sure you know what you're doing.
If you do go through with it, go big or go home. i.e. don't go to a boutique, it will not end well; instead make sure you go to a well capitalized BB and specifically an analyst with a very strong reputation in a big sector. Barring that, it's probably a stupid idea to jump in now.
