Entering Investment Banking Older

This also applied to private equity boutiques that raise capital. I have worked in asset management and treasury, I have also working in consulting for commercial real estate. I have developed a substantial network of hnw and uhnw investors. Some of these are personal some business. I believe I can be highly productive in raising capital for private equity and public transactions. I would like to continue to gain expertise in the other aspects of origination structure and so on. I have applied to many roles, and sent letters. I have indicated my willingness to work in some form of trial basis and details of my capital network. I would greatly appreciate any advice on people who started out later or not directly transferred from another division. Thank

bobste, sorry there are no responses yet. Maybe one of these topics can point you in the right direction:

I'm not sure if I understood your question correctly but it sounds to me like you're inquiring more about some sort of private capital advisory/private placement agent role e.g. EVR/LAZ PCA or Park Hill. Investment banks don't "raise capital for private equity transactions" per se. Maybe aiming to join a BB Leveraged Finance team would give you more of the origination experience you're seeking. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Thank you. I was mentioning private capital transactions because there seems to be more value there coming in with a network. So I would be interested in more private equity or merchant banking in addition to larger investment banking. Basically what would someone recommend for a person trying to enter investment banking later. Thank you
