Equity Research Summer Intern Pay?

Hello all,

I was wondering what the usual pay for ER is for summer interns usually summer in between junior and senior year? i've seen it all over for IB but no so much ER.

Another question I had is if you apply for ER? or do you apply to Asset Management firm and happen to get placed into ER? I believe thats how it is in IB, they kind of just place you where ever they need or want you(correct me if i'm wrong please).

Also if i wanted an internship as a rising senior, what kind of internship should I try to get in between sophomore and junior year? Thanks every one.

At most BBs, the salary generally matches IB, so 70k or so prorated. It's rare to see large compensation differentials for internships.

At an investment bank ER is a separate department, so yes you have to apply for it. At asset managers, the internship title will specify the role. A lot of asset managers also have internships in accounting, marketing, etc., so you need to make understand what you're applying for.

Most rising juniors can't be too picky when it comes to internships, so anything in the financial services sector is a good start as long as your doing something related to financial analysis.
