Escape from DCM
Hi guys,
*Quick Summary: *
6 mth Amundi Paris (RE/Infra fund)
6 mth French Bank Paris DCM
8 mth German Bank London Debt Syn (end Jul-20)
All Internships (french way)
Master Degree French BS (Top 8 non target)
Let's make it quick, I cannot stand DCM anymore it's been only a few month between London and Paris and I'm just a young intern but I really feel in my daily routine that we are totally useless (except the need of some sales force when issuers print papers or the inescapable intermediation).
Most of the originator don't even know the basic bond skills (2 days ago my Associate from syndicate explained to a VP originator what was an issue above par...) Maybe it's because I'm not in some prestigious banks but I really doubt it...
Questions: I'd like to move to REPE / Infra Fund and why not PE (have an interview for an entry level position at a Middle Size Infra Fund).
Do you think that I should target IB in some banks for my first permanent and then move?
Should I keep applying to entry level REPE/PE despite the absence of true IB exp?
Thanks for your return, would be glad to hear your thoughts about DCM though (cause I used to love it at the beginning)
BMCM, have you checked out these or run a search:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
