Essential TMT reading
I'm starting my MBA in the fall and will likely be recruiting for IB. My ideal industry is TMT but I understand it's tough to break into. Given my pre-MBA industry has nothing to do with TMT, what's the best way to get well-versed in this area before recruiting/interviews in about a year?
I've read the TMT overview on WSO which is great and also read the WSJ for good tech articles but would love to read up a lot more: industry reports from consulting firms/banks and general trends or M&A trends, technical guides, websites with most relevant news, etc.
Would particularly appreciate viewpoints of people who have covered the sector/recruited for it.

Read Stratechery blog and back blog issues. Maybe look up deal announcement presentations for current large deals in the space.
I'm gonna tell you right now that if you have no background in TMT it is gonna be a bitch convincing the bankers during MBA recruiting that your goal is TMT group.
Thanks for the post. I figured it would be really difficult but is there a reason it'll be that tough if I read up a lot on the space and have the most genuine interest in that sector? Someone who worked as say a PM for a startup might know that company or niche really well but not have breadth of TMT knowledge necessarily, wouldn't the latter trump the work experience?
I could also have the opportunity to do a short internship at a tech/fintech start-up pre-MBA or during term, is that beneficial to increase my odds?
