ETH Zürich MScQF - VS - HSG St. Gallen MiQE/F
Hey guys,
Time for me to think about my master degree (fall 2012) as the application is in 6 months. I'm still hesitating between those 2. You've got to know that I am willing to work on the trading floor (structurer/trader). I'm expecting my honours in Econ and Finance in summer 2012 and I am not afraid to go on in a very quantitative degree. So if you had to chose between those very 2 which one would it be ?
ETH is often ranked among top20 universities in the world and I'd become an engineer whereas I did my BSc in a business school, on the other side, HSG is quite apprecieted from the recruters point of view.
Do I have to toss a coin or you guys recommand me one ?
Thanks a lot !
I think you analyzed it the right way. ETH is top-notch for engineering, and I think the programme might be great but the reputation for business is not as good as HSG. My point is, in the end nobody cares in the interviews how your curriculum was set up. Therefore I'd go for the HSG. Great reputation in EU, cheap (in terms of tuition), you can network a lot as nearly everybody is like-minded and it's def. a target school (good banking placement compared to all the other schools being not in the UK). For a career in finance I say stick to the HSG.
