Europe Corp Dev to US IB?

Hi guys,

Long time follower but first post here.

Currently in 2nd year of a corp M&A gig at a F500 company in continental Europe. Have done 3 years of BB IB in Europe before. (Holding a Green Card). Given current role is rather slow paced would like to go back to banking, but preferably in the US.

Wanted to get your thoughts if it makes sense to try and directly apply to IBD roles in the US? Alternative would be to go back to banking in Europe and try to lateral to the US after a year or two.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Why in the hell would you want to come to the US, especially now?!? The long-term outlook is not great as the government/people move farther left.

The US left would be right wing by European standards. You don't know what the true left means. And believe me, you don't want to

Agree there are couple of downsides especially regarding lifestyle and other perks, but when it comes to banking I feel like it is still way ahead of Europe. All major companies are covered out of the US and most capable MDs NYC or SF based (At least at my old bank).
