EUROTRIP!
Starting work FT in July. My buddy and I from NYC wanna plan a trip to Europe for about 25 days in June. Thinking of flying into Spain, then doing the usual tour of France, Germany, Amsterdam, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, and perhaps ending in Greece.
For those of you who have done the Eurotrip thing, any tips on cheap travel, countries to visit or not visit, places to see, best nightlife, or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
best nightlife: berlin, geneva, paris, london, milan, barcelona, prague. if you are going in summer make sure to go through cote d'azur (nice, st tropez, and cannes) --thats where the partys at.
in terms of cultural places, all the usuals are interesting. except for venice. never go to venice

Tips on drinking in Paris:
Going out is very expensive here and, being an alcoholic, I made it my mission to find the cheapest drinks in town. Your average bar is going to charge you around 8€ for a pint of beer or mixed drink, and that's just bullshit unless the waitress is going to blow you (and she isn't).
One good alternative is Bar Hideout. They have locations all around town, good happy hours, and tons of chicks. I think they charge around 4€ a pint until 10:

But the real gem is the Val Café. Happy Hour until 10:00 every night and drinks are 1.50€. That's right, tough guy, 1.50€ for a pint of beer or mixed drinks. And it's in or near the neighborhood you're probably going to be in anyway because of cheaper accommodations (the college area). Here's the skinny:

No website, but that's how you get there. Not a shithole, either.
I would also recommend this place in Paris for pregaming: http://www.bar-lamarine.com/ They have a happy hour from 6 to 8 where you can get a pint of any beer for 5 euros, including one that's 17 proof and very good (Delirium Tremens I think).
Food is okay but cheap.
If you want to party or be near the water then definitely Barcelona, Ibiza, Greece, and the French Riviera (Cannes, Monte Carlo, Nice, etc)
Just
I was born and raised in western europe and trust me on the following; - Amsterdam (2 days is enough to get totally f´ed up) - trust me I know, I am Dutch - Paris (see earlier comments) - Barcelona (for the chica´s a.o.) - French Riviera (see earlier comments) - Berlin (Dance Parade, crazy nightlife) - Lake Garda or Rome in Italy (Milan maybe but not more than 1 day) - Stockholm/Helsinki (party and chica´s)
Enjoy!
Thanks guys keep em coming. Unfortunately gotta drug test so Amsterdam will be sort of pointless...
Should tell you that Amsterdam has more to offer than prostitutes and weed actually...good bards, hot girls, nice touristic places, great multi-culti society...truly a place worth visiting regardless of your drug test
