Excel formula design
I have a style question regarding excel formulas. I developed the habit to put a plus "+" at the beginning at every formula instead of an equal sign "=". Is this considered "bad style" and something I should avoid. I know that this is just a tiny thing...
Thanks
No difference. Most use + on the numpad anyway.
"+" is considered pro. Or if you want binary test to return a 0,1 rather than TRUE,FALSE instead use double minus "--" before your formula. And one more thing about formula design, always put the most logical precedent cell reference at the start of the formula, makes CTRL+{ jump to first precedent so much easier (especially for your associate) - also for the same reason use SUMIFS rather than SUMIF.
+1 for diverse_kanga
I like to design spreadsheets with as simple formulae as possible. If you are doing multiple steps at once in a cell, you would probably be better served by doing an intermediate calculation in a new row or column. Unless you can model like this:

Don't think it matters. I always use + because it's faster with the number pad
Echoing what others said above, I think it's a harmless habit. If anything, it shows to your associate that you're striving to be efficient.
