Exit Opportunities as a generalist in a family office
Hi All,
Need to gather some career advice.
Summary:
-Recent graduate working in a small investment team in small family office for a little over a year.
-I am a generalist, i research/write investment recommendations on interesting sectors/investment ideas from mgmt team. I also keep track on company portfolio and write reports during earnings season/refresh valuations
-I don't do any form of modelling. I focus on whats important to the firm, its valuations and trends that are important to the firm. At its essence, we all agree modelling is extremely subjective and not as important as knowing what moves the stock, hence not required for me to perform my job well. We do 0 modelling.
Problem: what are my exit alternatives? While I have picked up a fair bit of general knowledge across various sectors and know their drivers enough,I do not possess modelling skills(though I know what the terms and etc), and this is a problem as opportunities I come across all require a certain basic modelling skills at the very least
Appreciate any advice from all.
Thanks!
