Expectations for sign on bonus when moving to new firm
Hi,
I have been working at a quant hedge fund in London for about six years. Another fund seems to be very interested in my skillset and we are about to start negotiating on comp etc.
The good thing is that my deferred comp has just been paid, so I'm not leaving any money on the table here. However, Unfortunately I will have a one year gardening leave. Also if I resign now, I would obviously not receive any bonus for this year. From last year's comp I can roughly estimate how much this year's bonus would be.
Does anyone here have some Intel on what kind of sign on bonus I could expect in this situation? What percentage of the bonus I will not get would be reasonable to ask for?
Thanks!
One year garden leave sounds amazing!
