Experiences with Bourne Partners, Dragonfly Capital or Tobin Group

It seems Charlotte is growing in the IB area, however it still seems that internships and good jobs are still fairly scarce. I was doing some research about boutique operations here in Charlotte and came across three of interest:
- Dragonfly Capital
- Tobin Group ( that I understand to run like hell from)
- Bourne Partners

I spoke with an individual at Bourne who politely answered my questions regarding the interviewing process for an internship. It seemed fairly standard, I was informed some model building would be part of the process.

I haven not spoken with Dragonfly yet and don't plan on reaching out to Tobin.

Has anyone had any experience with Bourne?

This is my first post so I'd love to hear from anyone who is working in Charlotte and what experiences (good or bad) that you've had.

Yeah...Tobinite..sounds like a brainwashing cult. After reading reviews and bits on here there must be something in that Kool-aid to keep the unpaid interns around!

Dragonfly was founded by a guy who worked at Bowles Hollowell Connor & Co. back in the day. Almost every major bank in the Southeast was either founded by or has many senior bankers who used to work at BHC, which after several acquisitions is now part of WF. I don't know anything about the bank itself, but the guy is clearly very well connected.

Avoid Tobin. Check out this thread and Justine Tobin's Twitter. The woman is a nutjob. Avoid.

I don't know anything about Bourne Partners. They are a HC boutique, so I would imagine their dealflow is decent at least, but definitely ask how many deals they close on average per year.
