Exploring Valuation techniques for retail banks

Hey, i’m an equity research analyst and i cover banking sector, it’s been only 3 months in my position and i feel like there’s way much more to know and use.

in the valuation and forecadting of the bank’s stock, what techniques do you guys use? And also the forecasting of statements. 
i wish there was some sort of a reference i can felt back to, to understand the retail banking sector more, if you can help or there’s books that can help me in this matter please share it
