Hey guys hope everyone's having a good week. Just wanted to share some observations from a top 10 brokerage and a very strong office, and also see if anyone wanted to share or opine on things they are seeing.
I can't help but notice that the chairs in my office have not been filling back up nearly as quick as they did a year ago. Interestingly enough, there are quite a few empty chairs that have been sitting vacant for good deal of time. It could be coincidence, but I'm not convinced that it is. I'm wondering if senior management is pumping the breaks based on the cycle and anticipating a significant decrease in volume. My team's deal volume isn't really down, but on par with last year. Are you guys noticing a shift in dynamics or are my observations circumstantial?
What market or coast? I'm definitely seeing something a bit different.
I'm on the west coast and a lot of what I'm seeing are small to mid size shops trying to rapidly expand. Poaching people off from all these mergers that have been going down (Cassidy Turley -> DTZ -> Cushman, ARA -> NGKF).
