I know a decent chunk of the incoming analyst class for EY-P's Software Strategy Group (SSG) bc a good friend of mine interned there last summer. Here's what I know:

  1. SSG was a boutique called Bulger Partners based in Boston before it was acquired in 2019. My friends actually all recruited for Bulger and only later on found out they would be integrated into EY-P.

  2. As of last fall, they still conduct recruiting separately from each other, though that might change in upcoming cycles. Former target schools were Harvard, Brown, Tufts, and Dartmouth (basically what you'd find in Boston area) but again, this might change.

  3. The work is 80/20 commercial due diligence/traditional strategy, focused on software companies, obviously.

  4. Culture is pretty good and still distinct from rest of EY-P. Standard consulting hours. My friend had an amazing time last summer, the full-time analysts and principals would regularly take the interns clubbing on friday nights.

  5. Out of ~13 interns, I think only 2 of them didn't get return offers. Out of the 11 that got returns, maybe only 1 or 2 turned it down (re recruited for MBB, I think).

  6. Most full-time slots are in Boston, but they've recently added NY and SF as options.

  7. Not too much data on exits but at least one analyst exited to VC. I would imagine the exits are not too far off from what is available to EY-P, but focused on tech. Bschool is obviously an option as well.

That's all I can think of right now, happy to answer more questions if needed.
