F1 Bloomberg keyboard

I just got keyboard from bloomberg and i want to pop out the f1/caps lock/insert keys so i can use it as my normal use keyboard, but i don’t want to damage it, as i don’t own it. has anyone popped the keys out before and is it possible to do it without permanently damaging the keyboard? thanks

Huh? I understand all those words individually, but have no idea what you're getting at. Those keys all function as normal keys outside of the terminal.  If you don't like the bloomberg keyboard then get a B-Unit or B-Swipe and use your own keyboard.

Technically Correct Answer (The worst kind of correct): I believe they use scissor switches which means that the key-caps are tough to remove, and are not compatible with mechanical key caps.  Unfortunately it's been so long since I've been to the office that I don't really remember too well.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

i don't want the f1/caps lock/insert keys in my way...

I can see situations where the Insert and caps lock keys would be annoying, (although caps lock is great WHEN SOMEBODY'S WRONG ON THE INTERNET!!!!11!!!11!1!11!!!) F1 is the HELP key though, arguably the second most important key behind GO in the terminal. There is no way that I'd want to remove it.  If this is a personal computer I'm sure that there's a program to disable keys that you don't want active.

Sounds like you're just trying to be hardo. F1 is super useful in Bloomberg and you want to remove it for......pride? Instagram clout??

Even if you were a hardo and didn't want to ask for help it's still super useful for flagging errors in their datasets quickly. It also helps when you need to understand limitations of their systems. (i.e. EQS will not backfill prior constituents of an index, and will therefore exhibit survivorship bias in any backtests you use it for)
