Facebook AI

Facebook recently had to shut down its new AI program because it created it own language that its programmers couldn't understand. It may not be Skynet, but this has to a little frightening to certain people. People like Musk and Hawking have warned about the potential dangers of AI in the past. Personally, I thought it would take a while for AI to develop to a dangerous level but could this be forshadowing to future problems?

Creative destruction. AI and it's ability in killing millions of jobs isn't something to be afraid of. Just going to have to adapt and new industries will come up. I see an opportunity rather than being like the low class population crying "but me job."

I heard that at BBs they have an algorithm that deletes submitted resumes that don't have certain schools listed on them. Not sure if true. I mean they get a million applicants for SA spots. Again, not sure if true.

I recently watched a cool video related to this. Think about the English language and how some letters don't really contribute to the understandability of a passage (e.g. if I remove all the vowels from this paragraph, you can still read it). So if you remove all the letters that can be predicted, you end up with only letters that can't be predicted, i.e. letters that are completely random.

So in essence, information in its purest form when represented in the English language is just RANDOM letters! Because anything not random is predictable, and anything predictable is redundant.

As such, if AI were to communicate to each other using English, I wouldn't be surprised if they use a much more abbreviated version of the language that would seem like random letters to us.
