Facebook during BSchool
I never had a FB account and I'm starting FT MBA in August. Is it necessary during and after Bschool or is Linkedin enough? I don't think I'd be that active on it though.

If you don't have FB during b-school you will be seen as a pariah. It is absolutely essential for social purposes, and I'm someone who hates FB but maintains it out of necessity.
Why would you need facebook? I know this is a new idea, but you could call people!
If you want to tell a large group about a social event, you can't call up every single person. Facebook, whatsapp, or e-mail, are the most efficient ways to go about it.
One of the guys in our class did very well without it. But his SO was in the class as well and he is very social/cool otherwise. GroupMe helps too.
It's definitely not necessary to have FB during b-school. You'll have everyone's email already and for the people you'll want to be friends with you'll have phone numbers (might not be as many as you think). For everyone else (just professional relationships), linkedin is fine.
I have 3 friends from my b-school class that I still get together with since graduation. Other than those 3 everyone else is either a linkedin contact or not. The number of cool people in b-school is not as many as I had expected going into it.
This is sort of stunning that you only meet regularly with 3 friends from b-school since graduating. Also, what do you define as "cool?" I've found that b-school has tons of smart interesting people from a wide array of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
