Facing a dilemma

I'm at a CC right now & networking, been going pretty decent so far.

I have a few people right now that really like me & one is at a mid-sized PE firm

Most of them have told me that they don't hire interns but if I don't find anything by the time summer starts to just contact them and they'll "work something out"

Here's the dilemma: My family lives in Ukraine and they want me to visit over the summer. I don't know why the fuck they want me to go this summer and didn't ask anytime in the past 3 years when I didn't have anything to do, but whatever. They want me to visit and that's the deal.

I'm thinking, from a CC, if I can land a PE internship, even if unpaid, that is a rare opportunity and I should take advantage of it. Not many people get that chance and any internship in your freshman year puts you ahead, much less one in PE.

I can always go to Ukraine during spring or winter break, I don't have to go for 3 whole months. It also doesn't help that the town I was born in, to put it simply, is a shithole and there's not a lot to do.
