failed degree = rejected job offer?

My offer is conditional in that I need to complete my masters degree. Of course I doubt I will fail, but my university has the great idea of putting 100% of your grade on all your final exams at the end of the year.

So if for any reason I f... up, what would they do to my job offer? I will also only know whether I pass or fail once I start summer training. (Retakes are only june of the following year).

Anybody has some personal experience with that?

(I do have a BA however, and completed it with high honors)

I suppose I might as well join this LSE party. I'm a postgrad student as well. Yet all my contract says is:

"This offer is subject to...

  • you obtaining a degree at first siting which is acceptable to the Company for your inclusion in the Graduate recruitment programme"

I'm thinking hm, so I need to have completed "a degree". I already have a BSc, equivalent to first class honours. No mention of requirements for, or even of, a masters degree.

LSE represent :-p We might all be in the same masters actually... Sadly the masters is not like in the US where you can fail both midterms and final and still pass because the professor likes you. Here in almost all your classes the exam covers the whole year and is 100% of your grade.

I don't really want to sound like a complete idiot in front of my future co-workers by asking them: hu is it cool if I fail my masters? Also all it takes is to fail one of the core classes in your masters to fail it. I know it probably won't happen, but remember the black swan theory by Taleb ;)

My program is not A&F or F&E or any other typical IB feeder course. It's very small. Anyway I probably won't be much help for your exams! (I know absolutely nothing about accounting)

Sorry, yes if you fail, the company has the right to let you go. And given the current market conditions, that seems like a pretty good chance. So make sure you don't fail :)
