Fall Investment Banking internship?
Are there any? And how do I go about them? If I'm graduating spring 2017, will I still be able to do an internship at a Small Boutique or MM in the summer of 2017?

I was in a similar position as yourself going into my senior year and I will be starting as an analyst full time at a MM bank in a few weeks.
What I did is August before my senior year I began reaching out to every boutique firm within commuting distance (1-2hrs) from my campus offering to intern for free. I had some offers on the table at the time for non-banking roles in finance at the time and decided that wasn't the path I wanted to take.
Offering to work for free shows hunger and banks like to see that level of aggressiveness... not going to lie it also comes down to good timing. I came on board at a bank working 2-3 days a week fall of my senior year. Eventually they will start paying you and the experience you get will be worth it, nonetheless. Work hard, ask a lot of questions and they will notice.
Do you have other internship experience? You need to have a good story why you want to get into banking now and not before (most bankers know pretty early that they plan on going IBD- at least for junior SA)
Feel free to PM me.
Sent you a pm.
Extending Sophomore Summer Internship to Junior Fall Internship During OCR for IB SA? (Originally Posted: 08/25/2016)
The boutique IB that I worked for this summer is inviting me to work for them unpaid remotely during the school year (like a fall internship). Considering that I am not aiming to intern at the bank next summer and that I will be going through OCR at my school during the fall, are there any benefits to working for the boutique during the fall remotely and unpaid?
If you want to work there FT, then yes do it. If not, respectfully decline and focus on academics.
If it's unpaid then fuck that. I'm staying on at my internship because I get paid well and there's free food. You could even try to get a paid job for the fall instead.
I'd turn it down as well.
The work will be pretty minimal, as in 2-3 hours of work per week. Though it will be unpaid, wouldn't it be a good experience to have as I get to be involved in live deals while working remotely?
If it's really easy then keep at it. Also ask for a salary because why not
How is this possible? - Starting fall internship at a local boutique (Originally Posted: 08/26/2011)
Starting a Fall Internship at a local boutique on Monday. I was looking up historical transactions, and it stated "RJR Nabisco - Senior Debt/LBO - 13,750 MM." Does anyone have a list of every single bank that was involved in this deal? If an MD perhaps worked on this deal at a different bank decades ago, do they have the right to post it under experience? Curious as to who this works, thanks.
A lot of boutique and MM firms have transactions that their senior guys worked on in their deal section. Did you scrounge around the page for an asterisk, saying something like, "Reflects transactions completed by X professionals, including transactions completed prior to joining X?"
I think this makes sense to do if the current firm is new, and doesn't have many closed deals to list itself yet. However, after awhile it just looks ridiculous, as a big deal like that (RJR/KKR) had everything to do with where that guy worked, not the guy himself.
Part-Time Fall IB Internships - Hear back? (Originally Posted: 10/02/2011)
Hey,
I'm currently applying for part-time Fall IB Internships (boutiques). I went through second rounds and was curious as to how many people on avrg. are invited to second rounds compared to SA IB recruiting where there are ~6-9 candidates in the running.
I'm waiting to hear back from and wanted to know if the timeline for a response (rejection/offer) during the fall is generally longer than for SA ib interviews. I understand firms may have different timelines depending on various circumstances but wanted to know general experiences/insights from those who've gone through part-time fall or spring recruiting.
Appreciate your help. Thanks!
how did you even go about applying to these?
school postings and networking for a few.

Just wondering if there were any firms that are doing IB recruitment for SA positions in October/November? I know the BB do accelerated recruitment but how about top boutiqes?
Piper Jaffray, Jeffries, Moelis come to mind. Info is on websites
Someone told me Credit Suisse at certain targets. Can anyone confirm?
CS has already started at my school
For my school:
JPM and CS next week
Are those presentations or interviews?
every BB does a few fall superdays for accelerated and study abroad candidates
