Farewell Gift for Senior Bankers

Anyone have good suggestions for farewell gifts to their senior bankers after their analyst stint is over? Leaving my firm after 3 years as an analyst and a short bit as an associate and I actually like pretty much everyone in my group and know their recs throughout my interviewing process were huge in helping me get my next job.

All the other analysts /associates who left have historically done nice bottles of alcohol which I just find to be a bit boring / unoriginal - I think the last 5 people who left all did this. Found this thread (https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/analyst-fa…) and some others which are all older or not that helpful unfortunately.

Put some thought into what you buy, I'd recommend heading to a good liquor store and asking for suggestions. $150 goes a long way towards a nice bottle. Just don't do something generic like Johnny Walker.

Cheer up, Bateman. What's the matter? No shiatsu this morning?

NuclearPenguins:
Any other thoughts? Somebody suggested ties for the male bankers.

DO NOT DO THIS!! Any good senior banker knows how to dress themselves, and some 20 something year old is not going to impress them with a tie purchase. If you are at a bank where people wear French cuffs/cuff links, there is more possibility for good creativity and a nice custom present there. I had a junior guy give me monogrammed silver Tiffany’s cuff links that I still wear to this day. I am glad no one ever tried to give me a tie.

Seriously though, why not good scotch/wine/champagne? That will 100% get used. Only caveat is if you work for a combo of Mormons/Muslims/Sikhs/Indians who don’t drink.

Not sure if they are into smoking but if they enjoy the occasional cigar with their scotch you could get them customized cutters, or a humidor. Other options include accessories for a bar (if they're scotch drinkers you can get them glencairn glasses... personally I don't think they do much but my dad spends a stupid amount on scotch and swears by those fucking glasses...

Cheaper than your budget but for the female (even the males) you can google "good day, bad day, don't even ask scotch / wine glasses). Pretty cool little accessory. Again, if you want something more meaningful you can get them personalized.

There are also thinks liks socks where they read "if you can read this bring me a "insert drink name""

Come to think of it a lot of us might be alcoholics... anyway, just a few suggestions.

Bouquet of colored dildos arranged in a tastefully selected crystal vase. Or if that's too risque for you, draw them a picture as if you were a small child (stick figures drawn with crayons). Depict yourself standing over them in a position of dominance, or perhaps draw yourself on the beach without them. The medium of choice here is obviously construction paper. You could also offer them coupons for free hugs. Use your opposite hand to write the coupons for added effect.

Seriously, just get them a nice bottle of wine.
