Father abandons daughter because of math grade
After that terrible troll post a few days ago, I see this on my news feed. Truth is stranger than fiction:
"A Pennsylvania father pleaded guilty to child endangerment for abandoning his teenage daughter at a mall over a bad grade she received at school.
Tuan Huynh, 47, of Montgomery County, dropped his 16-year-old daughter off near Cheltenham Square Mall and told her she could not come home ... "
Asian dads don't mess around.
how bad was the grade though?
thats brutal. i wouldve just left home.

Oh , Phuc Mi. This is brutal
heh a 16 year old in calc is already a pretty good achievement, i think I was just getting to end of algebra 2 and trig at that age
This is a terrible mistake by the father, now Harvard will know she got a B+ on a test and her chances are ruined. If he would have kept quiet, nobody would have known.
She also wont be getting into HBS and will never be able to live the DREAAAMM!! Life is so cruel

This isn't limited to Asians. African parents also really push their kids really hard, especially the immigrants. But this is just fucked up in the head, nothing to do with his culture, he's mentally unstable.
Ha, on the other hand last summer when my cousin picked me up from heathrow we were talking about football in the car (I'm a chelsea supporter and he's an arsenal supporter). So I started taking the mickey out of him he stops the car and was like get out and walk home on the highway ! Then he drives like a few meters off and lets me get back in. Ha, it was a joke, but still ...
Ha...haha.....hahahahaha
LOL. Everything in here is a perfect setup for a Family Guy gag on Europeans.
As fucked up as it sounds, I've had something similar it happen to me, and not even over something as serious as a math grade. My mother and 16-year-old me had a tirade over something really immature that I had done. She told me to get out of the car and that I would have to walk home. Then she drove down the street out of sight. I shrugged and walked to the nearest restaurant and grabbed a drink. After a while, she circled back around to ask me whether I had stopped being a whiny brat. I waved my Coke in her face and told her that I was perfectly capable of hailing a taxi home if push came to shove.
Actually, now that I think about it... how is spending hours at a mall equal to punishment? Well, I guess packing your bags -does- make it seem serious. Regardless, I would have just chilled, window-shopped for a bit, and then called a friend to let me crash at his/her place. If, after letting my parent brood for a night, he still verbally or physically threatened me, THEN it would be cause to call the officials. But otherwise, I would expect a 16-year-old to know how to handle the situation.
Maybe I expect too much. or desensitized. or both.
dam your username isnt bullshit at all
totally agree...coke can definitely be chic...but only if its from a glass bottle though
