The Skyrim remake is awesome! Halo 5 as well, except for the lack of split screen campaign (which I miss in all next gen games btw)
BO2 get smoked boy
Modern Warfare series or kill yourself. Black Ops are for Back Office
Hey ibankedup how long have you been playing COD BO2 for?
Skyrim is still so dope and the next elder scrolls just got announced

No. No one has ever played any of those before.
I'm Gay

GT, and the occasional clash royale during short breaks
Nice do you play any other games many?
Civilization, because anything less than world domination is child's play.
6 is such a disappointment though
Agree, Civ 5 was the best one of all. I still have it on my PC.
You sound like you'd really like Hearts of Iron 4
Don't forget about Nintendo people! No matter what your view is about video games, no one can deny the popularity of Mario, Pokemon, and The Legend of Zelda, to name a few iconic Nintendo franchises.
Yes that is correct! I love the wind waker. Have you played that Zelda game entrepreneur hero?
Out of curiosity, what is the point of this thread? To get new gaming friends?
I play mainly on a PS4 slim and an Xbox 1. I primarily play Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Trials these days, but used to play more hardcore (competitive) in a broad range of games as a kid. Happy to get a new game if there are any good online games out there right now.
Dark Souls: The only thing more crushing than your analyst years at a BB.
Dont forget Bloodborne, buddy
Currently playing The Witcher 3. Definitely one of the best games EVER!
Call of Duty and Overwatch.
Rainbow Six Siege and CSGO.
WC3, SC2, Halo 3 and Vanilla WoW (On the Project Elysium Server - hit me up if anyone here is playing)
Check out Warmane for really good Cata, WotLK, BC, and Panda
Yeah, ive heard.. I wanted to play Vanilla though
I log once a month on wotlk icecrown. Hit me up, I’m Ebitda.
Do you have steam Or PS4 Takenotes08?
Bro after they release WoW classic, I’m resubbing. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says, vanilla was the shit.
Ill probably take a week off and binge play to 60
Did you really play Vanilla? Vanilla for raiders blew. It was a giant grind and wipefest. I played a rank 13 tauren arms warrior with a pocket healer and ashkandi. Shit was cash tbh.
Why not just play on a private realm if you like older expansions? I log onto Warmane now and again where I have a BiS ret and holy pally and shadow/disc priest.
Was 6.9k MMR on dota 2.
spent way too much time on games lmao, now not so much time for them anymore
dark souls, lost odyssey, nier, tales of vesperia, ninja gaiden, bayonetta, vanquish, fall out and oblivion, and so many more
those were the days
Not a banker, but I definitely enjoy games when I have the time for them - Fallout, Witcher, FIFA, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, etc. All solid.
FIFA. even though each new addition is the same as the previous one, I can't help but buy the newest version each year.
Chel and FIFA
Oregon Trail (the original version) while at work. It's a great proxy for surviving the world of finance
I prefer the Asian version, Taipan!
I'm in the process of beating Mass Effect 3
Man - the ending is not as big of a deal as people made it, but it's still disappointing.
Still one of my favorite series of all time, although the new one didn't live up to the prior 3
Would you still recommend I pick it up for $15 Black Friday? I also own Witcher 3 and will play that next if not. Also been meaning to get to Ori and Unravel.
Think my favorite game ever is SW: KOTOR. Second one is great too I also enjoyed all of the Ratchet & Clank games and will play the new one once the PS4 gets cheap enough. That's all I want a PS4 for so it has to get pretty cheap.
I keep spending all my money on exotic fish so my armor sucks. Is it possible to romance multiple females? I got with the blue chick so far but I am also interested in the electronic chick and the face mask chick.
Very solid game
Counter Strike, and PUBG. PUBG with the boys is endless fun, so many ways to play the game.
PUBG 4 lyfe
also Skyrim, Zelda, Starcraft Brood War, and Onward (VR)
haven't played vids for years, but wow watching my roommate playing xbox 1... i could get hooked so easily, things have changed to say the least
Tandem21 I haven't played counter strike before. Can we play together on PS4 or steam? Please let me know
OP you might as well ask people for their gamer tags at this point lol
Better to be upfront about it
Ummmm ok fine. Would you like to play NBA 2K together on the PS4??
Tellmehowtoplay what was your favorite ninja gaiden game
definitely ninja gaiden black and then ninja gaiden 2 after that.
ninja gaiden black for the different enemies and the weapons and the challenge levels.
ninja gaiden 2 because it's fresh with the scythe and the gore and still fast paced. I'm tempted to keep a storage of games to let my future children (if any) play them. I'm genuinely sure that I've changed for the better after playing some games/watching some animes.
OP desperately needs friends. Reminds me of Flash in Justice League trailer
NCAA Gamebreaker 99
OP tryna network through video games, unique and genius.
COD ww2, battlefield 1, rocket league
I just started playing rocket league a few weeks ago bsagget. Do you wanna help each other get better?
Just go on and ask him to help you get better at kissing too. You know, for when you find "the one". It's not gay if you don't enjoy it.
Used to play WoW, SC, SC2, CS 1.6.
Nowadays I play some CS:GO, Dota2, LoL every now and then.
Ever play CSS or just 1.6 and GO?
Skipped CSS; it was a thing during my WoW days.
yes they play games. But not sure which they like to play.
Come on guys, I'm too busy banging my Victoria Secret model(s) to sit around and play 'video games'....
COD is fun though
Racing game I like all the time.
Age of Empires, Starcraft, Starcraft 2, Witcher 3, Skyrim
DOTA 2 and League of Legends.
I have the urge to slay characters, gank people and grief the newbies until they rage quit.
I used to be maplestory nerd. Now I'm on pokerstars.
I'm covering quite a few gaming companies so playing game is a huge plus (Candy Crush doesn't count)
Games for the Xbox PS4 Steam????? Which systems Techbanking2016
www.tournamentseries.yolasite.com techbanking
I don't own any consoles, however I've been playing games on my PC since I was a teenager. Mostly play strategy games and RPG's.
Just got Witcher 3 a little while ago, but haven't made any progress. FIFA, Overwatch, Halo, CoD, WoW, Heroes of the Storm, NHL, all the staples.
Will grab Forza 7 and Assassins Creed when I get XB1 X.
How is the new COD game Breakingrich?
Haven't bought it yet. Ask me in a week or two.
It's in the right direction but far from a CoD classic.
Pros: 1. None of the exo suit bs 2. Traditional COD multiplayer levels 3. Relatively even disbursement of weapon strength (no super OP guns yet) 4. Campaign has solid game play (although characters are a bit generic, less so than the previous 3 though so I'll keep it in pros lol) 5. So far I haven't been having a problem with camping (we'll see how long that lasts) 6. Haven't seen any thermal sights/track finders.......those on LMG's sadly piss me off, like way more than they should lol
Cons: 1. Campaign is short (only US in Europe, ~7hr gameplay depending on ability and lvl of difficulty) 2. Weapons don't have wide variety of attachments 3. Not a whole lot of guns 4. A d-bag class to give shot gunners incendiary ammo (can't stand shot guns :/ ) 5. Player customization isn't as good as previous games (both appearance and special abilities, ie scavenger, etc) 6. Currently DLC content is minimal, which was surprising given how short the campaign was. I figured they put more effort into content people could purchase 7. Game seems rather generous with the hit marker for quick scoping (may be confirmation bias on my part, tho)
I haven't played zombies yet so I can't comment on that aspect. All in all, if you are a traditional CoD fan, I'd suggest buying it (or asking for it over the holidays). It plays like the older games (MW-BO2, less bells and whistles tho). It definitely fees like WaW re-mastered with slight adjustments. I won't hype it as an instant classic. It's a fun game so far but I think there were some big areas they missed the mark on.
I feel quite out of place, ha.
I don't really play as much as I used to in the day, but I was always game (and still am) to play a game of Madden online with someone. MVP Baseball 2005 was the best baseball game every produced, but the show is still solid. The last real first person shooter I've played was Modern Warfare II, so that gives you a sense of how dated I am on this :P
General hodgepodge of RPG's rounds out my list (e.g., Kindgom Hearts, Skyrim, Final Fantasy, Resonance of Fate, Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, Paper Mario was outstanding :D)
Alpha q I just sent you a PM. Please let me know if you saw it thanks
Had MVP 2005, totally agree. Haven't played the show since 2010 but bought it this year after I couldn't get enough baseball the last year for obvious reasons! I had a 2005 franchise that went like 5+ seasons was awesome.
Halo 5 because I'm already a beast supersoldier at my PE day job, so why not just continue it at night?
Also sometimes Battlefield 1. I pwn noobs with my Martini Henry.
Just beat Mass Effect 3. I do not understand why people dislike the ending. Did you guys stick around for the bit after the credits? It was fucking epic.
Check this out
www.tournamentseries.yolasite.com. He had his first video game tournament at the Bronx NY today. He will be having these video game tournaments I think every other Friday if not every Friday. He has games such as Call of duty, Madden, NBA 2k, Overwatch, etc. Anybody interested in attending these tournaments?
I forgot to mention he has locations in NJ and in NY
Forza Horizon 2, Forza 6 for Xbox 1
Cool Aladdin mak1! What does everybody think of the link? He has games such as Madden call of duty overwatch etc
Hello Kitty Island Adventures.
I'm enjoying Ori & The Blind Forest a LOT. It's like emotional Mario
I've just started Witcher 3. Well sort of. I'm level 19. It's super fun. Wish there was a little more action-to-talking since I can't bring myself to follow the intricacies of these stories with too much attention.
Bro chill, give it time, it's the best game I've ever played on the PS4 and one of the best ever. Pay attention to the damn story you savage.
I know the story is objectively good. I just have a thing where I can't commit serious mental energy to made-up politics. I can barely follow the real shit. Same reason I can't get into Game of Thrones... It's a fun game and I understand the gist of it. But every side quest introduces 15 characters and it's just a lot to take in
Pinball foolz
If you game and aren't playing Fortnite idk wtf you're doing. That is absolutely where it's at rn
WoW - ex server pool top3 gladiator priest.
Sold my account with 16 (season 4 BC) and regret it to this day. Biggest mistake of my life.
Overwatch Horizon zero dawn Destiny 2 Fortnite Fifa 18
yes, sure! I play PUBG and Dota 2, they reduce stress really good
and NFS too. yay!
Five Ways Video Games Made Me a Better Investor (Originally Posted: 10/01/2016)
Instead of spending my free time outdoors, I, like many of you, spent my childhood playing video games. So how has that made me a better investor? There’s at least five very good reasons, so let’s get right into it.
1) Know the Rules
The subtlety in this seemingly obvious statement lies in the inflection. Read it in your head the way Batman might say it: "Know the rules." It could be said that players generally fit into two categories: those who act within the bounds of the commonly understood rules; and those who so entirely grasp each minutia of every rule that they seem to act freely without bounds whatsoever. Believe me, you want to be in the second category.
Video games, like investing, have many self-evident rules. It is generally understood where to go, who your allies and enemies are, what the goal is, etc. What separates the mediocre from the great players isn’t always skill, but often knowledge. You may know your enemies from allies, but imagine knowing how many there are, their locations, and what threats each of them will present.
Apply this to investing for just a moment. In such a complicated field, if you aren’t devouring information at a voracious speed, how do you ever intend to fully reach your potential? Just remember those epic 90’s 8-bit cut scenes after you beat a legendary video game if you need motivation.
2) Mechanics
This word floats around video game forums with a nebulous definition incorporating both the way the game world acts (think in-game physics or A.I.) as well as physical interaction with your console. The latter is not particularly applicable to investing, unless you’ve found yourself miss-clicking buy instead of sell (hey, it’s happened). But the former is incredibly pertinent.
Separate from knowledge of rules, such as trading fees or GTC vs. GTD, mechanical knowledge is understanding what is actually going to happen when you put in a buy for that position with extremely low liquidity, what the real overall value of your trade will be when your trailing stop executes and if that is greater or worse than handling it manually, or even extremely basic things like how to fluidly navigate your trading platform.
Learn from professional video gamers – until you’ve seen a situation so many times you think your eyes will bleed, never assume you know what is going to happen. You need to do it over and over until you truly get the mechanics behind it, and even then, build in a plan for unexpected technical issues.
3) The Effects of Compounding
This is one of those pieces of knowledge that, while acquirable later, just isn’t quite the same unless you’ve learned it from experience at a young age. And honestly, there really isn’t a good way to teach a pre-teen how compounding works that isn’t going to bore them to death besides video games. If you’ve ever played a game like Starcraft II or Command and Conquer it doesn’t matter what age you are, the power of compounding is not only an essential tool to learn to destroy your friends, but an early introduction into the world of finance.
Early in these kinds of games you have a certain amount of resources and are given a choice: build a small army now, or invest those resources into more units that gather resources. Over time you learn that this isn’t really a choice if you intend to win. Investing is the same. Don’t enjoy the fruits of your investments. Be disciplined. Re-invest. Investing is a game that isn’t about today or tomorrow. It’s about a lifetime of stability.
4) Do What Works for YOU
This one actually is as simple as it sounds. Don’t take my advice, or anyone else’s. On second thought, take everyone’s advice. Just don’t take it all to heart. Everyone does things differently. There’s different ways to play any game, and in any good game each of those styles can be successful. You don’t have to play like your friends to be good. And oftentimes playing differently makes you better. Each person has a natural risk tolerance, a different take on markets and how to read them, different skill sets, different goals, etc.
The most important part of this concept is to balance your comfort along with your personal knowledge. Be cognizant that if you don’t properly understand the basics, you shouldn’t set out to
Post fails to provide any investment track record. Thread subject heading not justified by the content.
Sorry my post didn't meet your expectations SSits. As far as my background I was a competitive/semi-professional gamer, turned professional poker player in college. I then taught myself to trade stocks and options on my student loan money as a PhD candidate, and saw enough success to leave school and pursue it full-time. Five years out, I still haven't needed a "real job." However, the focus of this post was more on entertainment and learning lessons from my own experience rather than proving my credentials. I also felt the advice I gave was self-evident enough that it didn't require a resume. I'm sorry you felt differently, but I appreciate your feedback.
Favorite games?
To keep it short: Ocarina of time, Starcraft, Vanilla WoW if we are talking all time. Currently playing Rocket League competitively, catching up on The Witcher 3, and just got my mind blown by Kholat.
Anyone here play supreme commander back in the day? And despite all the shit that cod gets, search and destroy on MW2 was incredibly fun
Video games made me a better investor. First algo was Fourier analysis on the wow auction house.
Love this. In the gold old days, I remember making tons of gold flipping items in Runescape (so lame).
Wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't ignited the spark with that.
Picking plays in Tecmo Bowl is the ultimate game of strategy
@the uncontortionist
Some people don't realize how some games' digital economies have grown and created jobs for economists. I know this is not the "JPM FICC Analyst" job but look here for the economist job:
http://www.valvesoftware.com/jobs/job_postings.html
Valve is ofc the developer of Counter Strike games, and as I play this game for about 15 years now, I would definitely not hesitate for a second picking this job and start my career in the business of gaming. There is a lot of more growth in online games Economies than the real world economies anyway.
Marketplaces of games like Wow, Fifa games and CS GO act similarly to stock markets and the same skills are required to achieve better items and even make a cash profit at a certain point. This is only going to grow in the future.
Walking in the woods is not a waste of time.
Opinions are what they are, opinions.
I have always thought video games were better for personal development than watching tv. Nothing worse than somebody sitting on the couch watching tv and saying "those video games are melting your brain"
I agree with most that is said in the post.
I used to play poker semi-professionally in college. In other words, I paid for my whole tuition playing cards. I spoke of poker during my PE interview when they asked about what I do in my spare time and it turned out that one of the VPs was a huge fan of live tournament poker. He played in some of the same events as me and I believe that this gave me a huge edge to get the job.
Being in PE now, do you still have time to play poker in your free time or has it been some time you touched cards?
Similar story here - played online during college to pay tuition and it got brought up a lot during interviews. Took a few long breaks but have started playing again recently on America's Cardroom and once a week at Sands.
Anyone play Sid Meier's Railroads! I think it was the third one, but that game was tits.
You are actually describing speculation, not investing. Trading is very different than investing.
This is a fair point to some degree. My examples were that of trading. However, the same rules apply to investing, and I have my share of long investments that I put the same principles above to use to find, research, etc.
Most importantly: the ability to shut in front of a screen for hours without moving.
NFL Blitz taught me how to develop interns properly
Grinding in games taught me the discipline of grinding IRL. Valuable lesson from early age.
A research says that video games are said to improve a person's decision making skills and they can act more quickly and smartly.
Gears of War taught me the value of team work. If you rush into a battle without your squad covering all vantage points, you'll take a chainsaw to the face real quick.
Hey Mark how are you sir? Do you still play video games?
Public auction markets for any game started preparing kids for what a cut-throat society would be like.
The Uncontortionist - You should watch Rounders (Matt Damon) if you haven't already
