Favorite Trader Joe’s Food Item?

I’ve seen so many videos and tiktoks about different Trader Joe’s snacks and foods, I finally decided to put my fitness goals on a hiatus and try the snacks. I got to say the mochi and soup dumplings are extremely tasty.

What do you guys normally get from there?

spicy Italian sausage

I believe it's chicken, which is a little odd for italian sausage. It's also a bit much on it's own. I find it best chopped thin, sauteed and used for Orichette with Broccoli Rabe. The secret is to grab a bit of the pasta water, add bullion and add it to the oil right before finishing the pasta. It's an easy dish if you know what you're doing, but there are so many ways to screw it up.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

The frozen pizza. burritos and pasta (especially gnocchi) are great too for single-serving meals.

If you can same day stuff (unfortunately, I can't, 14th is too far uptown from the office) try the salads. They aren't bad. You can normally get healthy crunch and ruffage for not much cash.

There are a ton more details I can't get into for this, but yeah, trader joes is somewhere between "ALDI++" and "Whole Foods." and gets assaulted on both sides for it.

I like their Ethiopian coffee blend

You know, I've fed both that and their standard 'dark roast' through my superauto, and can't really tell the difference. Your palate might be more sophisticated than mine though.

Everything But the Bagel seasoning is clutch, as are the aforementioned chicken soup dumplings and little frozen pizzas. The Aloo Chaat Kati Pouches are fire, quite literally -- spicy and very good, especially for frozen food.

the fudge spread in a jar, Caesar salads, potato spuddies (only 2 ingredients in these French fry chips and 600 cal for the whole bag), kale gnocchi, black bean burritos and chicken sausage burritos are so fresh I feel like they are better than fast food ones, and their overnight oatmeal. my gf loves these items sm I shop for them every week lmao.

If I'm buying TJ's non-produce products, I stick to what I need. I've tried my fair of god knows what from TJ's and I've never been disappointed. The one thing I always buy though is the TJ's brand seltzer. I'll go through cases and cases of it and prefer it to La Croix and other brands. Here's the kicker though, I'm a sucker for Polar brand Seltzer. TJ's is just a relabeled Polar. While they don't have all the flavors (like the seasonals - I'm sitting on a case of Strawberry Margarita, Blackberry Mango Punch, Kiwi Grapefruit, Raspberry Rose, and Perfectly Plum Summer -or a number of regular flavors), it's still enough to get a decent rotation going without burning yourself out on drinking the same flavor over and over again.

I've also bought the TJ's brand hard liquor before. IF you know what you're looking at and who does bottling, you're getting pretty good stuff for half the cost. I went through a few bottles of their 15 Year Irish Whiskey, which was just white labeled Bushmills 15. Sme with buying Kirkland brands at Costco. If you know what you're looking for, it's great.

I've always been a Vintage guy, and prefer lemon-lime or plain. What makes you prefer Polar?

Their wine is surprisingly good for the price, same with their candles, and their Oatmeal and Honey soap is underrated (not snacks but I thought I’d throw that out there).

For pure junk food- dark chocolate peanut butter cups or the dark chocolate covered orange slices are always fantastic.

Less bad for you- veggie chips or sweet potato chips

I almost exclusively go to Trader Joe’s for my groceries.
