Listened to Bill Burr's podcast the other day. He talked about when he was taking drum lessons from an older guy, and the guy talked to him about his life growing up. Bill was miffed to learn about the stuff the guy did, and the guy told him:

I miss Christopher Hitchens. He was clever, well-spoken, thoughtful and made well-reasoned arguments. He could debate virtually any topic. He has a brother, but his brother is essentially a poor-man's Chris Hitchens, so it leaves me wanting. There are too few people today who are well-read and well-spoken. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people today who are poorly-read and poorly-spoken but insist on being heard.

It's a nice concept, but he should have chosen a different example. In practice, women did not lose the right to retreat behind their powder puff, and they never will, because men will always want to fuck them, and this nonsense of pretending that gender differences are primarily social constructed is willful ignorance, denial of hard scientific truth, and possession by ideology.
