FIG Investment Banking Recruiting
I'm a 1st year FIG Associate at a BB in NYC. I recently received a call from The Travillian Group. From their website it looks like they focus primarily on FIG investment banking recruiting. Has Anyone had any experience working with them? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Gogenheim, they're a legit recruiter, but most, if not all, of their positions will be with boutiques. If that's what you're interested in, great, but if you're looking for spots at other BBs or at EBs or MMs, Travillian might not have the positions that you desire.
Thanks, Sil - I appreciate the insight. I've had some bad experiences w/a couple recruiting firms in the past, Pinpoint Partners in particular, so I tend to be a bit on the cautious side. I've found that many times the jobs aren't legit and they're just looking for resumes. I wanted to get some insight prior to a conversation with Travillian. I'll report back once I speak with them.
You're right to be cautious. My general rule of thumb is to avoid recruiters who have not been discussed on WSO before. Selby Jennings is another one to avoid at all costs.
I've dealt with them and have nothing but good things to say. They aren't pushy, they share all the info they have pretty readily, and they really do try and find solid fit. As Sil said, their FIG jobs aren't BB, but they helped me with joining a MM shop where I really enjoy the people and the work. Definitely worth a chat.
