Finally got an interview...couple questions
Hey guys...
after months of being unemployed and frustration, I finally got an
interview at a boutique in ny...its for a IB support position. The title
is "analyst" but from the info from ppl on this forum I gather it is more
of a support position ("research analyst") to banker with the possibility
for a 1st year analyst position after a year or two...
my quesiton for anyone with experience interviewing for such a position...
- how technical (walk me through dcf, valuation, modeling etc) are support interviews?
-step in the right direction for someone who is looking for IB down the line?
-hours/pay/exit ops later?
I had an internship in IB last year but didn't really do any modeling....it was an
off cycle internship in Asia. Just ended up doing pitchbooks, research, translation, admin stuff...
thanks in advance....
I'm more interested to know how you havent managed to get more interviews with IBD already on your resume.
I had tons of front office interviews, and had no IB on my resume at all.
curious as well. I'm scared this will happen to me since I'll be interning at a no-name boutique.
you'll be fine with the technical interview guide on wso....i'm sure you'll be able to become an analyst is you perform well in this "support position." Good luck.
