Financial Consulting Advice
As an undergrad, I've been researching about the audit/consulting field and firms like MBB, Big 4, and Accenture, IBM, etc.
Having taken some accounting and finance courses and don't call me a nerd but I enjoyed those classes, I'm leaning towards financial consulting. I'd like to perform FS analysis, valuation, things of those nature.
Now, I've talked to few experts and learned that prestige depends on what 'type' of consulting I'm talking about. I searched on Vault and those guys were correct: e.g. while there is a general consensus that Deloitte Consulting is slightly more prestigious overall than PwC's counterpart, PwC indeed ranked higher in some consulting practices (including financial consulting).
With that said, my questions are:
(1) What's your opinion on the Vault ranking on financial consulting? The top 3 were: McKinsey, PwC, and Deloitte.
(2) Anyone know of the salary range for the financial consulting field?
(3) For those in the financial consulting field now, do you enjoy the work?
Thank you
