FINDING THE MD (Needle in a haystack)?

Hey guys,

Student here who works at a retail store. I meet a lot of people, and one of them happened to be an MD at Citigroup. He runs two teams, capital markets and IPOs. I struck up a very good business relationship with him, and was able to give him my number. He has not texted yet and don't know if an when he will, and I do not know his first name. I was wondering if there is a place where I could find the name of the MD's who work at the new york office of citigroup? Just wondering if I could find this email. I haven't found it on rocketreach.

im trying to get an internship for next summer. He is a hell of a nice guys so I don't think that's a problem. I will make people wait in order to talk to him long enough. It's not a grocery store its a CVS retail store. I did my job very efficiently and made the first move when asking to talk to him, and also made the first move to give him my number. I hope he can see from that that I take initiative and am motivated. He said to come down and see the bank so he can show me around. Just have to get his contact info so I can do that lol.

sounds like he was being polite

I am still not giving up no matter what it was. Until he says "no, you can't intern with us," which I doubt he will say, I will not give up. This is is just too great of a possible opportunity to not at least pursue somewhat.

You are an idiot. Networking requires hard work/persistence and common sense. It sounds like you are lacking the latter.

Use basic social cues to understand when a lead is dead and move on. If you keep trying to stalk/harass this guy, it will only waste your time and annoy him.

you weren't there so you can't fully tell what he was saying/doing when we talked. therefore you can't say that the lead is dead.

thanks for the practice for thick skin. I'm not trying to find out his info anymore, I'm just going to ask him the next time I see him if he has a business card to follow up on the offer to come down to the office. If he deflects it/whatever, then I will quit.

Clayton Hale and Douglas Adams are Co-heads of ECM. Literally googled it in two seconds. If you can’t take initiative to solve your own problems you’ll never have the elite skills required to make it in IB

It was like the third article down after searching “Citi equity capital markets head”. If you didn’t get the hits you were looking for, you need to have better attention to detail. Maybe commercial banking is more your speed
