Firms expanding to Miami

A bunch of firms have made announcements that they would relocate part of their workforce to Miami / Palm Beach. Notably Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and some others.

Most of these relocations are for back office / ops / tech teams, but there may be some investment professionals as well.

Creating this thread to keep track of firms announcements, timing and size of Miami operations (especially valuable are comments from employees at these firms...)

Makes sense for all back office and ops to move to Miami.

You just want Florida to decisively flip blue.

I do not think that will ever happen with Alabama so close by.

Alabama has nothing to do with Florida. Also look at Georgia this election who literally neighbors Alabama. Not a decisive flip obv but considering how more liberal professions (like tech, ops) are moving to Atlanta I’m skeptical the Republicans can regain the state (at least in a stronghold way like before).

I think a lot more of that has to do with voter expansion efforts, especially among minority communities.  A few thousand jobs is small beer compared to the what?  The third of US citizens who are of voting age but don't vote?  A third of GA voters are black, and they vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Not to jump too hard on the Stacey Abrams train, but the hundreds of thousands of voters she registered are like several decades worth of jobs moving into the state.

We would sooner excavate the land that's connecting us to the rest of the US.
