Firms hiring entry level brokers or traders
Hey Guys,
Sorry if this thread has been made before. I'm not too tapped into the trading world. I have a good friend who is trying to land an entry level job at a trading firm or brokerage. I've set him up with intros to the only two guys I know in the business - an etf trader at Citi and a 1st yr guy at a prop shop I know.
I was wondering if you guys could recommend any firms that take a decent number of entry level guys. They don't have to be elite groups, but more just ones that you know are hiring. He's really just trying to figure out who to send his resume to.
He's got a 3.4 GPA, 2 decent business related internships (not at a brokerage or in trading), is hungry and will work hard. I think he could do well.
Would greatly appreciate if you could list any firms I could tell him to look into and try to apply to. Thanks guys.
Two Points
1) Don't most prop groups require NRC? If he is willing to take that kind of crap job why not just trade his own account. Legit prop/trading groups generally recruit from targets and spaces are probably filled by now.
2) Why doesn't he continue networking and just reach out to random people? Does he have a plan b/c if trading does not work out?
