First Apartment - Furniture

Hey WSO,

I'm moving to NYC in a few weeks to start at a BB as a FT IB Analyst.
I'm starting to look at furniture and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the price range/basics I should get?

I was looking at Walmart or IKEA furniture as options (not trying to spend a fortune), but curious if it's worth it to pay up for better quality? If so, do you have any particular stores you'd recommend?

Thanks all!

Restoration Hardware has a lot of good pieces, but its expensive. I used to get 40% off there. I have one piece from Ikea - it was a $2K L-shaped black leather couch. I've had it for 6 years and it is bulletproof solid. I have a bunch of other rare furniture that I searched the internet and world to find.
