First internship, need some advice

I just locked in a PWM internship at a nearby BB branch

Should I try to get sponsored for a Series 7? Other certifications? Any resources I should be tapping into?

Note: my goal is to land a SA position by my sophomore/junior year at a respectable IB, though I'm also very interested in S&T and ER.

You should use it to make connections and network. Make sure everybody (especially higher up people) like you, and see if you can network with people from other departments.

You'll be doing extremely simple work, so spend more time getting to know people. Also: mine the company directory for contacts in departments you want to work at, then contact them on your own time. Get your GPA up, it's literally the most important thing after networking, even switch majors if you suck at computers....hell, I did.

As a freshman, they will most likely not sponsor you...based on my personal observations on the business.

Your work will be veryyyy simple (sending out mailers, filing, maybe some cold calling).

If youre getting any pay, good for you.

Best bet is to network as much as possible with all the better performers in the office, and also chat it up with the wholesalers that come in.

Get in close with the branch manager (kiss his ass) bc he'll have the ultimate say in how you progress.

Good luck!

When you talk about kissing up to the branch manager, what do you mean "progress"? Like if I tried to intern at another branch next summer?
