First round interview thoughts
Hi all,
I just finished my first round interview with a BB today, and I wasn't asked a single "fit" question (not even why IB) , only technicals and to explain a stock pitch I did for my University's investment club. I've previously networked with my interviewers, and have extensively networked within the firm. In my conversations with other members of the company, I have been told to expect little to no technical questions in the first round interview.
Do you think that they asked so many technical questions because they already determined if I'd be a good fit for the firm, or is it common practice to catch interviewees off guard with some surprise technical questions?
