fixed income firms (like PIMCO) vs equity?
i'm interested in hearing what some people on the buyside think
you have firms like PIMCO that have really made a name for themselves in fixed income
are there funds that only focus on fundamental equity?
i know you have large ones like fido and BlackRock that will have both but it seems like fixed income has been "trending" in the past few years
There are firms that focus on fundamental value investing in equity space. They will typically be sub-advisors for large mutual funds, pensions, wrap programs, etc.
"sub-advisors"? what do you mean by that
Companies that have mutual funds don't always manage in house. They have a sub advisor manage X strategy. Sometimes X strategy is sub advised by multiple sub advisors, each getting a piece of the overall allocation to manage.
