Floor Trading?

So I was watching something on youtube

about the CBOE. And I couldn't find anything on here about trading on the floors. How would one get into trading on the actual floor of the NYSE or the CBOE and does anyone have any experience with it? I know that computer trading has taken away lots of people who trade there but it does seem exciting. Also, what about profit potential compared to being a trader at a BB?

Trading at the exchanges and the open outcry system is dying out. It is less profitable than trading at an investment bank and has suffered for over a decade as BBs attract the talent. To my understanding it is almost all execution trading - I don't even know if brokers on the floor can have their own books. I don't know why that would be more appealing to you than trading at a BB.

Also, Knight Capital. Boom - end of discussion
