Follow on to "Security Analysis" by Graham and Dodd
I am finishing up the book "Security Analysis" by Graham and Dodd and was looking for a good follow on book about fundamental analysis. After reading both this and," A Random Walk Down Wall Street" I think passive investing is the best way to go for the individual, but that talented and thorough fundamental analysis can give a team an edge, even today. I'm looking for something more modern, but well respected.
Any suggestions or "must reads"?
Little book that still beats the market
Klarman's Margin of Safety, lot less thorough but a great read.
You can download a pdf version of Margin of Safety as it is out of print and definitely read the Buffett shareholder letters.
Greenblatt's books are excellent as is the Manual of Ideas.
Tweedy Browne's "What has worked in Investing" is also an excellent, empirical paper on why value investing outperforms over time.
For studying fundamental analysis I´d recommend you "Financial Reporting, Financial Statement Analysis and Business Valuation: A strategic perspective" by Wahlen, Baginski and Bradshaw. Really great book, specially if you don´t have a BSc in Accounting.
