Follow Up Email - Too Aggressive??
Is this too aggressive of a follow up email to send to a first round interviewer? I am really enthusiastic about this opportunity and am trying to get a superday invite
"Thanks for taking the time to speak with me on December X. I wanted to touch base regarding the summer process at X? I'm enthusiastic about the opportunity - to the extent it is possible, I would definitely like to continue the dialogue.
I'm currently interviewing with Firm A, Firm B, Firm C, Firm D, Firm E, Firm, F, and Firm G. However, I'm really enthusiastic about a potential opportunity with your firm because of X and Y. hope to hear from you soon."
Not aggressive at all. Certainly a good idea to follow up. What you drafted up looks pretty good as it doesn't show you as overly eager but mindful and respectful of the other person.
What is good about this is that you aren't making a hard ask but instead projecting enthusiasm and interest.Although maybe don't state specific firms you are interviewing as the interviewing may think you are BS'ing or will be turned off by it. Just mention you are active in other processes. Also make sure spelling and grammar are correct.
Like mentioned above, I would maybe leave out the list of all the firms youre interviewing with, comes off as cocky and unnecessary and instead just say " i am actively interviewing but would really like your firm b/c of x,y,z"
