For those of us leaving in June...
Those of us in IBD who are finishing up and moving on with our lives in June, a few questions:
1) Are you 'mentally' checking out end of May? I'm planning on being a waste of space come June 1 and basically taking June off (unproductive will be an understatement)
2) Any of you planning on using the rest (or all) of your vacation / personal days?
your not worried about getting jacked on your bonus?
Probably not going to check out completely, but will def try to swing 2 weeks of vacation.
Thing is, my group knows I'm leaving so I don't imagine getting staffed on any long-term projects come May.
Last year an analyst got staffed on something "quick and internal" two days before his last day. Stayed until 4am both nights.
1) I was not totally checked out. I'm just now getting accustomed to 7 hours of sleep. I got out around late July '06 and took all of Aug off...
2) I scheduled a vacation week 2 months before my departure and checked out the following Wed permanently...
Think I've built up enough equity for my bonus not to get jacked. That said, these last months seem to be going extra-slow.

famous last words man. not b/c of checking out but b/c you've told them. different banks are different but I know ppl who've gotten 25-50% of their class avg because they announced
why arent you staying on for a direct to assoc.
Job lined up in PE.
doesn't screw people, great exit opps help recruiting.
Had to tell them--some of the senior guys were my references and the shop is one of my firm's clients.
you have to use references at reputable shops. Who knows LB Banker, you might be the next BSD and will be sending business back to your bank.
BB MandA are you going to a PE shop too?
In general, how many people completing their analyst term go on to PE or HF? How about back to school or to some other field?
