Forbes 30 under 30

Forbes is doing this interesting feature called "30 under 30," which is a list of 30 people under the age of 30, spanning across 12 different areas, who are considered to be at the top of their respective fields and will likely be tomorrow's leaders. A few of them are familiar names, the most obvious being mark zuckerberg. But the vast majority are those who will probably gain more recognition in the coming years.

Here's the list for finance.

Alexa Von Tobe could get it

Negative Ghost Ryder that is a no GO I repeat a no GO!!

Clever got me this far Then tricky got me in Eye on what i'm after I don't need another friend Smile and drop the cliche 'Till you think I'm listening I take just what I came for Then I'm out the door again

Interesting, something I always like to do, is dig up this list of a few years ago, and see where they are now. I can hand on heart say that noone I admire/aspire to be like (and there's a good few in that list), have ever been on this 30 under 30 stuff.

It's the same as with the child chess prodigies, where are they now?

Reading some of those numbers, normal distribution, tail end, and high sample population spring to mind.

I was just about to say the same thing. Interesting how some tend to "burn out" or something. But got to admit, that's some crazy stuff.

Surprised this hasn't devolved into a Michelle Mayer VS Ernestine Fu thread. Heh. Gotta say though I'm a little puzzled with what this chick is trying to do:

Former Morgan Stanley trader has raised $25 million to start site geared at making financial information accessible to women.
People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis, you can't trust people Jeremy

Props to the guys who made the 30 under 30, every day they hustlin'?

It's a weird list. There are some legit ballers like asita anche and ahsim khan, and then there are quite a few who makes you wonder how they got on the list. There are plenty of much more accomplished young finance folks who just don't want the publicity of being on Forbes and/or their friends and co-workers did not submit their names to the Forbes editors.

This article is an embarrassment to Forbes... "Aced the Series 7"? Lol... with three authors, you'd hope one of them would have a clue. Apparently not.

Yeah, I laughed my butt off when I read that. To be fair though, maybe they meant the guy got every question right on the exam, which is definitely laudable but not worthy of being mentioned on Forbes.

On the other hand, the people featured in science, tech, social&mobile lists, are pretty damm impressive.

If you want to see "good at nothing other than self promotion" click on the Real Estate section. The guy at the top of the list is a complete d-bag and good for nothing. I know him personally and thus this entire feature is now worthless in my opinion.
