What's the best way to thank someone that helped you?

Finishing up a rotation and there are a few people that went out of their way to help me bigly. Want to thank them but not sure what is appropriate. Thinking of a simple hand written note with a bottle of wine, or a gift card but don't want to make it seem like i'm sucking up. Any thoughts or ideas or suggestions on what is appropriate?

stop by, or call them, have a real conversation and tell them how much you appreciate it and that you will never forget them and that they can call on you anytime if you can ever return the favor. and do it.

This, or the note you mentioned before.

OP - think how many times in your life someone came up to you and genuinely thanked you. It is probably incredibly rare. Things like that will stick with the person you thank.
