Ah yes my good sir. There is a secret lodge that of which I cannot divulge on this here forum. All ye masons hail!

You think you're special because you're part of the Freemasons. Well, I'm part of the Illuminati. (/|/)

My Freemason brethren and I shall strike you down into the abyss! Thou shalt prepare for battle or perish.

It's a philanthropic group(for men) if philanthropy interests you then I would look into it. So I would think its resume booster, but do it for the right reasons.

Fear is the greatest motivator. Motivation is what it takes to find profit.

Usually, being "religious" is up to your definition. You will be asked if you believe in a Supreme Being but will not be asked (and not rightful to ask in Masonic conduct!) which religion you are in. So even if you do not subscribe to a particular religion, if you believe a Supreme Being/God/Allah/Something, you can become a Mason.

On invitation: No, that is not true in the US. You have to ASK a Mason rather than wait for a Mason to come give you an invitation. The best way to explore for the curious to go visit a lodge (or many lodges, that's better for different lodges have different personalities) and see how the people are like there, and if you like it you can ask what you can do further. Whether they admit you or not is another question.
